Job Description
 The Prestige Cosmetics Group is seeking a Visual & Shopfit Specialist to uphold and express the Chanel brand identity across all South African retail environments. This role ensures that boutiques, counters, and travel retail spaces reflect the Chanel aesthetic consistently, while delivering operational excellence and collaborating with local and global teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Counter & SAB Launches: Develop project briefs, coordinate timelines, installations, and refits with UK design teams, project partners, and shopfitters. Manage merchandising elements and snag corrections.

  • On-Site Merchandising & Execution: Ensure consistency in visual merchandising across all retail doors, including fragrance, makeup, and skincare displays. Coordinate POS screen planning with the global team.

  • Bespoke Merchandising Projects: Partner with UK VM Design team to execute bespoke merchandising elements in line with campaigns.

  • Campaign & On-Counter Store Changeover: Translate global marketing calendars into local merchandising actions, manage displays and digital screen content.

  • Forecasting & Production Planning: Forecast yearly merchandising needs, manage stock levels of visual elements, oversee local production.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Communicate plans and updates to VM, marketing, and retail teams; support regional teams with guidance.

  • Reporting & Governance: Provide monthly, bi-weekly, and quarterly visual reports; maintain VM asset log and documentation.

  • Store Maintenance: Track and resolve maintenance issues within 30 days; manage supplier relationships.

  • Eventing & Activations: Lead design, setup, and breakdown of Chanel events and activations across stores and external venues.

  • Budget Management & Administration: Manage Visual Merchandising and Shopfit GL codes, monthly reconciliations, POs, supplier payments, and CAPEX budgets.

  • Trade & Field Presence: Conduct regular store visits across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, and KZN; review photographic feedback.

Profile & Competencies

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Deep understanding of luxury retail and brand aesthetics.

  • Exceptional project management and organisational skills.

  • Collaborative, solution-driven, and detail-oriented.

  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

  • Ability to balance creativity with disciplined execution.

  • Commercial awareness and budget management.

  • Own transport, valid driver’s licence, passport, and willingness to travel abroad.

  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup, AutoCAD.
